Herd Manager - Senior Farm Assistant Role Accommodation – Modern 1 Bedroom self-contained unit on farm. Suitable for an individual or couple. We have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their dairy experience and join our team on a 550 cow dairy farm on the edge of Palmerston North. With a new 54 bale rotary shed, with modern electronics, drafting and in-shed automation (Think auto teat spray, auto cup removers, auto plant wash, auto vat wash etc!) , this is an excellent opportunity to apply what you have learnt to date and to work within our team to progress your career in the dairy industry. The role requires someone who genuinely enjoys working with cows and people and can bring energy and enthusiasm to the role where you will be involved across all areas of the farm.

Farm Assistant position available on 350-cow farm near Tokomaru, 15 minutes south of Palmerston North. Start date from 3 June. This is a drive-in position, there is no accommodation is available. 4 days off per fortnight, including every 2nd weekend off. Working with farm owner, 2IC and relief milkers. 25 ashb shed with ACRs. Pedigree Holstein Friesian herd. Looking for someone who enjoys working with cows and is keen to learn and progress in the industry. No smoking/vaping permitted anywhere on farm. Must have current driver’s licence (preferably Full), reliable transport and be punctual. Must currently live in NZ and be permitted to work in NZ. Previous NZ dairy experience preferred. We are not registered as an INZ accredited employer.

We are looking for a calf-rearer for the upcoming calving season. The position is based on our 550 cow farm near Palmerston North. With modern calf rearing sheds, and good systems in place, you will be responsible for ensuring that calves are well fed and looked after. You will report to a senior member of the team who will provide guidance, training, and support in the role. The role is a fixed term role starting at the end of July and running for approximately 8-10 weeks, and is a drive-in role located minutes away from Palmerston North. There could be the opportunity ongoing casual work for the right applicant. Hours / Days of work for this position can be flexible to accommodate other commitments.
