We are looking for an experienced Herd Manager to join our fantastic team based in Otautau, only 40 minutes from Invercargill.  We milk 600 cows through a 30 aside Herringbone shed on a milking platform of 197 hectares of flat to easy rolling farm. You must have at least 2 years experience on a New Zealand Dairy farm.  Your role includes but is not limited to: Milking, Animal Health, Pasture management, understanding the environment and regulations around effluent, water and nutrients. You may need to train junior employees so you would be required to have a good level of communication. You must be able to operate machinery, tractors, feedout wagon, both 2 and 4 wheel bikes and be able to follow on farm safety polcies. You must perform good Health, Safety and Wellbeing on farm, record accidents and identify farm hazards and biosecurity issues. Looking for a farm assistant to join our team, 600 Friesian cows at peak through a DeLaval 50 bail rotary shed, ACRs and in shed feeding. Located five minutes from Otautau township, 25 minutes to Winton, 40 minutes to Invercargill.  At least one year experience, with good attitude and willing to learn, you will be working alongside contract milkers, 2IC and relief milker. We run a 6 on 1 off roster during calving and 8 on 3 off, 8 on 2 off the rest of the season.
