We are looking for a Herd Manager for an 500-cow farm, Jersey herd. Cows are milked through a 50-bail rotary. The farm is irrigated with k-line. Your role will include but not limited to: ·      Milking ·      Animal health monitoring/recording ·      Being able to confidently identify mastitis or ill health within the herd ·      Treating lame cows ·      Tractor work ·      Fencing ·      Assisting with calving ·      Ability to lead the junior members of the team   We are seeking an individual with: ·      At least 2 years of dairy farming experience in New Zealand ·      Strong work ethic and commitment to animal welfare ·      Ability to work well within a team and independently ·      Good communication skills and attention to detail ·      Physically fit and reliable This is a permanent, full time position and a minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed. Some experience is required for this role, this Fixed Term Contract is to assist through our Calving/Calf Rearing period which calves are still on farm in December. Candidate needs to be comfortable driving SxS on this Terrain. This role is all inclusive of general farm work, milking, rearing and feeding calves. Bit about the farm: - 50 Bail Read Rotary shed with ACRs + basic draft gate - Approximately 500 Jersey cows Rolling to steep terrain.     6 Bay Calf Shed.   Accommodation: Warm Single-mans Quarters with Heatpump.

Experienced calf rearer required for 2025/26 season. Working alongside Contract Milker. 8am Starts. Drive in position. Approximately 6 weeks - 1st August start. 500 Jersey Cow herd
