Spring Assistant and Relief Milker Supporting Farm Manager with morning milking, collecting cows and calves from mid July to end of AB mid November followed by regular relief milking available for 3 days every second weekend to provide Manager time off. Our flat 90ha farm is located very close to Okato township and this is a drive-in position. Milking 240 jersey cows through a 22 aside herringbone cowshed operated as a low input grass based system with a small amount of inshed feed utilised when required.  Competitive hourly rate available.

We are looking for a relief milker to assist us milking 450 cows through a 36 aside herringbone.  Shed is fitted with ACRs, Auto teat spray, Auto drafting, and also rubber matting (no sore feet). Cows are also fitted with Allflex Collars. Initially we would require someone 3-4 days a week until about mid September, then twice a week thereafter. Days are completely negotiable, we are happy to work around you current commitments  We are located close to Glenavy, 15mins to Waimate and 25mins to Oamaru.

We require an extra person to join our team of milkers. It is a flexible roster from week to week but we need somebody who is able to do at least 3 mornings a week (weekdays or weekend - days can vary or be the same if you want a set day). We milk early as our team is made up of milkers who go to other daytime jobs or are Mums who need to get home to their kids earlier. So morning milkings are approx. 4-7am at the moment. There maybe afternoon milkings tues - thurs available during the week also if interested, These usually run approx 1.30-4/4.30pm. We are about 7-8 minutes from each boundary of Palmerston North and Feilding, so easy driving distance, (Bunnythorpe area). Always 2 milkers in the shed. You are there to assist and carry out usual duties of a relief milker. Peak cows 370, but we milk all year round, so always milkings available. Split calving, 70 autumn calving cows and 300 spring calving cows.

This is a permanent Drive in Position for a relief milker. Duties include: Getting herds to feedpad, setting up paddocks and break fences, afternoon milking, washing out and other duties as required. Based in Ashburton, 4 minute drive from tinwald. Looking for a calf rearer to join our team from mid-July to September. We rear 200 replacements and some beef cross calves on our 830 cow operation. This role can lead into relief milking.  Experience is a bonus but happy to train on the job. Due to our current staff member having a change in family circumstances we have a permanent part-time position available. This role is primarily that of a calf rearer over calving with ongoing work available after calving as a milk harvester or farm assistant. The calf rearing aspect of this position will involve full responsibility of 220 replacement heifers, bobby calves and a handful of dairy/ beef calves. As a result at least one season of calf rearing experience is essential for this role. Outside calving this role involves shifting breaks over winter, being a permanent part of the milking roster, as well as any additional tasks we agree upon.
