Assistant Manager (2IC) We are a Family Farm situated 25 minutes south of Timaru and 20 minutes north of  Waimate in Otaio. The farm size is  240 ha , irrigated using Centre Pivots and K line. Currently  we are milking 800 cows through a 60 bail DeLaval Rotary  shed with in-shed feeding and cup removers . We have Allflex cow collars fitted and auto drafting. This position would suit someone who is looking to progress in the industry as we offer both on farm training and additional block courses. A 2IC/assistant manager is required 700 for our cow dairy farm just outside of Clinton, South Otago. The successful applicant will work alongside the owner, manager and farm assistant to complete all daily milking, feeding and animal health tasks. We milk 500 high producing Friesian cows through a 44 aside herringbone with automatic cup removers, in-shed feeding, pro track and allflex cow collars that are used for animal health and heat detection. Cows are wintered and calved on farm in a wintering barn. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for a 2IC to join our team at this late stage of the season.  We are energetic owner operators milking 970 cows through a 54 bail rotary shed, with in shed feeding, automatic cup removers and our cows wear allflex collars. We are looking for someone who is capable of leading the team and see that the day to day running of the dairy farm goes smoothly. We have a great roster, 2 days on, one day off, 8 days on, 3 days off. This is a 3 day weekend off every second weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) and a Wednesday off in between. We do change to a 7/2, 7/2, 7/3 roster for calving time. Well set up farm, pivot and fixed grid irrigation, effluent goes out through the pivot.
