Our stunning 300 Ha dairy farm is located in the beautiful region of Central Otago but still only 30 minutes from Gore where you have everything you need, shops, cafes, pubs, supermarket, schools etc. We are a family-owned farm, and we are still very much hands on. We are currently in need of a dairy farm assistant to come and join our awesome team. We consider ourselves to be fair employers and so will put a lot of time and effort into training and developing the right person. Ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience under your belt. Your duties will include milking our 730 cows through a 60-bail rotary, break fences, weed control, animal health, shed hygiene, however, you will receive very good onsite training as well. Being located where we are it is quite hilly so you must be very competent on a motorbike, both 2 and 4 wheelers The ideal person for this role would be someone with a good work ethic, great initiative who does not need to be micromanaged, can just get on with the job and is happy to work unsupervised. We would like to see someone who has a level head, calm in the shed, great with stock and punctual. We work as a team around here and we all pitch in. A full/provisional or full international licence is required and no criminal record. This is a drug and smoke free farm; we like to look after our staff wellbeing as much as our cows, so a healthy work life balance is on offer, we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week and will negotiate a salary of between $26 - $30 per hour depending on experience. |
