Assistant Herd Manager

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Farm Assistant or Senior Herd Manager to join our team of 4 on a dairy farm located 10 minutes from Methven.
The Farm
900 cows milked through a 60 bail rotary shed
351ha dairy platform
Flat farm
Team of 5 staff including us.

What We’re Looking For
Minimum Restricted Driver Licence
Dairy farming experience preferred
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work well within a team and independently
Tractor experience is a bonus but not essential. Drug free.

We are looking for a dairy farm assistant who is looking for a long term role. Our ideal candidate is motivated, reliable, honest, hard working and a team player. Candidate must have NZ citizenship. The ideal candidate would have at least 1 full season of dairy farming experience in New Zealand.
Candidate needs to some understanding in shed hygiene, detecting mastitis, lameness, other ill health stock and be able to treat them according to the policies of our dairy farm.
We milk 900 cows through a 60 bail rotary shed with in shed meal, cup removers, protrack and bail id. this is a drylands farm therefore no irrigation to sort/move.
