Herd Manager – Dairy Farm (Tirau, Waikato)

Located near Tirau, we operate a System 4 dairy farm, milking 650 cows through a 40-aside herringbone shed on 200 hectares. We are progressive in our farming practices, with modern facilities, up-to-date machinery, and well-established on-farm systems.

We are seeking an experienced Herd Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals, strong communication skills, and a desire to progress in the dairy industry, including undertaking Primary ITO studies.

Role Overview:

The Herd Manager will assist the Farm Manager in the overall running of the farm. This position includes the responsibility of relieving the Farm Manager in their absence and managing one side of the farm and one herd under the guidance of the Farm Manager.

Reporting Lines:

The Herd Manager reports to the Farm Manager under normal circumstances.

Requirements:

• Reside in New Zealand

• Minimum of 2 years' farming experience

• Strong references

• At least a restricted driver's license

• Reliable personal transport

• Drug-free (pre-employment drug testing will be conducted)

• Clean criminal history (background checks will be undertaken)
