We are looking for a motivated Dairy Farm Herd Manager to join our team on a well located dairy farm 15min from Palmerston North.
The role includes but is not limited to herd and pasture management, milking, detection of mastitis and other animal health issues, following hygiene protocols to achieve quality milk supply, feeding out and setting break fences, fencing repairs, effluent and irrigation systems management, and other general farm duties associated with dairy farming. Milking through a 36 bail herringbone . Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years experience on an NZ dairy farm, hold a current work visa to work in New Zealand and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references including their current employer. To fulfill this role, you will be required to;
• Have knowledge and experience in NZ dairy farming
• Be a positive team player as well as work independently
• To be currently living in NZ or have a valid visa and drivers license
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements
• Be smoke and drug free • Have good communication skills
• Confident in driving a tractor and maintaining farm equipment
• Be clean and tidy in shed, accommodation and provided farm gear
