Herd Manager

We are currently looking for an outstanding Herd Manager with a can do attitude to join our team. This position is integral to the success of our operation where your competence in pasture management, animal health and high standard milk processing will set you apart.

Skills required to apply for this position:

• A minimum of 3 years Dairy Herd Manager Experience
• Have great communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills and mentoring staff
• Be familiar with machinery operation and maintenance
• Have a commitment to and implement best practices for health & safety
• Passion for animal welfare and efficient farm management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities :

• Herd management – monitoring animal health, mating, calving, and milk quality
• Farm operations – assisting with milking, feeding, and general farm maintenance
• Pasture management – assessing feed levels and implementing grazing plans
• Health & Safety compliance – ensuring farm procedures are followed
• Team collaboration – working closely with farm owners and staff to achieve farm goals
• Tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage

Note : 

• You must have a valid drivers license
• You must have a clear criminal record
• You must be drug free
• You will be expected to do a pre employment and random drug testing if employed
• No smoking of vaping in houses, farm buildings or vehicles
• You must live on farm due to the requirements of the job
• No pets allowed
• Time management is important
