Farm Assistant role - 15 mins from Hamilton and Morrinsville

JW & SL Shewan Farm Partnership is a family-owned and operated business situated on 177ha of beautiful farmland, half way between Hamilton and Morrinsville, just 15 minutes from both. With 520 cows, 50 bail rotary shed with automatic cup removers, in-shed feeding and Spring calving with state of the art robotic calf feeders .   A well-established Farm Owner, 2IC and you to complete the team!

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Farm Assistant to join the team JW & SL Shewan Farm Partnership. Reporting directly to the Farm Owner, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:

·        Assisting in the care and management of their 520 cows

·        Setting up break fencing and feeding out

·        Operating and maintaining the 50 bail rotary shed

·        Operating farm machinery and vehicles safely and efficiently

·        Monitoring the health and well-being of their cows

·        Assisting with day-to-day farm tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and maintenance.

About You:

·        A genuine passion for dairy farming and a strong work ethic

·        Previous farming experience is welcomed

·        A commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and farm hygiene

·        Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
