We are on the search for an experienced farm assistant to join our team for the 2025/26 season.
You will be working in a team of 3 to carry out the day-to-day duties associated with the farm. These duties include but not limited to:
Milking - good shed hygiene and following procedures is essential
Cleaning the cowshed -plant and vat wash, hosing down, cleaning rails and maintaining overall cleanliness
Tractor work- Feeding out supplements, cleaning sand-traps, mowing etc
Spraying weeds -Mostly bike sprayer but grubber or knapsack used for some undrivable areas.
Race edges- sprayed regularly
Break fencing
Effluent management - shifting the gun irrigator and turning irrigator on
Animal health - Routine animal health treatments, dusting, identifying sick or lame cows
General farm maintenance - Fencing, greasing machinery etc
We try to vary the daily duties between team members so there is an opportunity to learn new skills and keep work interesting. The ideal candidate will be hard working, honest, show initiative, be a good communicator/team player and is keen to learn. This is a drug free farm and random drug tests may be conducted.

The ideal candidate Qualifications Need necessary Experience is preferred but able to provide training for the suitable candidate. ,or animal related experience Be honest, reliable and punctual Patrols inspects and report on the condition of livestock; provides livestock with feed and water; assist with maintaining the health and welfare of livestock musters and drives livestock to milking and between paddocks to ensure sufficient feed is available; washes and cleans udders, attaches milking machines and milk cows; cleans milking shed. Weed control and general farm maintenance Attention to detail, motivated and willingness to learn is a must Must be drug free Duties will include but not limited to: Milking and keeping the shed clean and hygienic to produce high quality milk Weed control and general farm maintenance Assist in break fences Preferable experience in riding a 2 wheeler & 4 wheeler good in tractor works if not training will be provided Following all health and safety policies Help to achieve farm goals Able to stand and walk about the dairy shed at milking time attach milking machines to udders and carry out health and hygiene tasks. Physically fit to push cows to get them into position. Works outdoors and in dairy-milking sheds. Works in all weather, often for long hours and carries out a wide range of seasonal animal health care tasks and general farm tasks. Carries out milking both early in the morning and late afternoon. Must be drug-free.
