Dairy Herd Manager

Dairy Herd Manager 1000-Cow Dairy Farm – Taupō

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dedicated team of five on a 1,000-cow dairy farm located in stunning Taupō.

You will be trained and potentially fast-tracked to take over from our outstanding current 2IC, who has served with us for 9 years.

About the Farm:

Our farm operates a 60-bale rotary shed, designed for one-person operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Herding cows and assisting with milking

• General tractor work, including feeding out

• Fence maintenance and weed control

• Supporting general farm duties as required

Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be able to confidently drive a tractor unsupervised 
• Be able to confidently ride a two-wheel motorbike 

• Be highly motivated and a quick learner

• Work well in a team environment

• Have strong animal handling skills

• Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking

• Be capable of managing tasks without supervision

Working Hours:

• Guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, with a maximum of 50 hours per week

Additional Requirements:

• Must currently live in New Zealand

• Must hold a valid New Zealand work visa

• Must have a Full driver's license 

• Must pass a police background check

• Drug testing is conducted on-farm as part of our health and safety procedures
