Job Description

We are looking for a experienced employee to work closely with us to carry out farm proceedings that are related but not limited to milking harvesting and quality, pasture management and cultivation, animal health and husbandry, breeding and rearing stock, creating and implementing policies and safety standards, effluent management and maintenance.

We are looking for someone who can safely, effectively, and independently undertake tasks necessary for the business's operation. For the success of this employment relationship, our ideal applicant will understand the need to be reliable, and receptive to constructive conversations so that we can be aligned on standards and expectations. 

Key Role & Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate ATV’s, Side by sides, and tractors with their attachments on rolling terrain
  • Maintain farm machinery; identify and resolve/report issues as they occur
  • Assist with farm records
  • Take responsibility for the farm's proceedings
  • Contribute to an enjoyable work environment
  • Manage and support staff when required
  • Operate and troubleshoot effluent systems
  • Understand and help implement feed allocation and grazing rotations
  • Ensure a high standard of stock welfare

The farm is located in between Milton and Balclutha milks 460 cows through a 40aside herringbone shed with cup removers auto teat spray and drafting cows are wintered at runoff across the road on kale and bailage .

This position is available for an immediate start, however, we are flexible with the start date and are willing to work with the right candidate.
