Daisyburn Dairies Ltd is on the hunt for a motivated, reliable and skilled calf rearer for the upcoming season. We are a well-established 700 cow farm.
The role will be sole calf rearer for 175 replacement heifer calves in addition to beef calves and bobbys to 4 days old. Ideally the right candidate will have 1-2 years calf rearing experience, and be able to work independently however, will have plentiful support from the contract milker and/or the two other farm assistants.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintaining clean and hygienic practises in the calf shed.
- Identifying health issues with calves and communicating concerns.
- Preparing and distributing milk, meal and hay feeds.
- Assisting with general farm duties.
- Additional support of relief milking 2-3 times a fortnight.
The role is available from August through to November but could be extended. This is a drive in position as there is no accommodation available on farm.
