HERD MANAGER/ SENIOR FARM ASSISTANT - GRASSLANDS WAIKATO
Grasslands has expanded into the Waikato, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a Herd Manager/ Senior Farm Assistant to join our team.
The farm is 330 effective hectares of predominately flat to rolling contour, with a few steeper sidling’s, milking 1000 cross bred, spring calving cows through an 80-bail modern rotary cowshed. The model is pastured based, the shed has in shed feeding facilities and the farm is equipped with all modern machinery required to run the property effectively.
The farm is situated 20 mins drive from the township of Tokoroa which offers a wide range of facilities and shopping options together with several schooling options. Rotorua, Tauranga and Taupo are all within an hour’s drive of the farm.

So, what are we looking for? We are looking for a Herd Manager/Senior Farm Assistant who: -
· Has at approximately 3 years’ experience milking a large herd
· Understands animal welfare best practice.
· Can follow and implement Health & Safety best practice.
· Is reliable and honest with a good work ethic, positive attitude and can work well in a team
· Has strong communication skills with good English.
· Is responsible and reliable
· Has machinery skills which includes operating a 2-wheel motorbike, quad bike, tractor work and feeding out
· Is looking to grow in the dairy industry
· A current full NZ driver’s license
