Balfour Dairies is situated 5 mins south west of Balfour township. Peak milking 880 cows over ~310 ha through a 50-bail rotary with ACR’s in a spring calving pasture based system. Cows are wintered on kale at local grazing purchased standing.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven farm manager or contract milker who is passionate about the dairy industry and strives for success every day.

An equity opportunity could be available after 12 months through negotiation.

The role encompasses a wide variety of responsibilities including operational, production, compliance, financial, leadership and people management.

Reporting directly to the Farm Investment Manager and working with the Farm Consultant the successful applicant is responsible for all aspects relating to the operational activities of the dairy farm.

About you: 

• Have a high degree of applied dairy farming experience. 

• Experience in promoting and developing a positive health and safety culture on-farm.  

• Experience in system implementation and management. 

• An experienced leader with a keen focus on the soft skills of leadership. 

·        Open to Giving and Receiving Feedback.

• Experience in KPI reporting and monitoring financial performance. 

• Skills using the MS Office suite of products and industry-specific software.
