We're looking for an enthusiastic and patient calf rearer to join our team this calving season. This role will work with another calf rearer to ease the workload. The 1000 cow farm is located in Dipton- 30 mins from Winton and 1 hour from Invercargill. There will be approximately 250 replacement calves with the remainder being sent as bobbies. Calves will be fed twice a day for a month before being switched to once a day. Experience preferred but not necessary. Care and respect for the calves, good observation skills, and tidy record keeping are essential. The roles are predominantly focused on calf rearing but there may be opportunities for some other work on farm e.g. relief milking. The shed is a 10 year old, 64 bail rotary. Good facilities and feeding gear including a petrol powered 1000L tank trailer to make milk delivery easy and efficient. Hourly rates negotiable depending on experience.
