Cheddar Valley Farm is a 150 cow, System 2, family owned and operated dairy unit. We are currently looking for a farm assistant for next season to help with day-to-day operations.
You will be working closely with the Sharemilker to run the farm on a day-to-day basis. All on farm training will be provided, and we encourage and support further training in ITO or similar skills courses for those motivated in progressing within the dairy industry.
Your role will primarily consist of milking, assisting with calf rearing, pasture and feed management, general maintenance, and animal wellbeing.
Key attributes/skills:
· Teamwork – great communication skills, can take direction and able to work unsupervised.
· Technology & machinery – safely operate equipment and utilise on-farm technologies.
· A passion for dairy farming, caring for animals and a high level of work quality & hygiene .
